This was our first planting in what we called the Brassica Circle. It is the bare area 2/3 of the way up the slope. I think we planted something like 50 Poppies , 100 Stipa p. and 35 Bromus carinatus. photo by Brad Heckman

This oak is where we started our project ( except for the Brass ca Circles) . We work outward from here. photo by Brad Heckman
The circles are areas cleared of weeds with a propane flame thrower. They were planted fairly early in the season. Later, when we had more time, we flamed the areas in between and added more plants. photo by Brad Heckman
